Uri Mor is an Associate Professor in the Department of Hebrew Language at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel and an advisory member of the Academy of the Hebrew Language. In his research he focuses on Classical Hebrew and Aramaic on the one hand, and Modern Hebrew and its emergence on the other. His work integrates linguistic, philological, and sociolinguistic methods in order to delineate different speech communities, contact situations, and corpora of Hebrew and Aramaic, and to explore the ties between language, nationality, gender, normativity, geography, and popular culture.
