Niru Perera is a socio- and applied linguist with research interests in health communication; language and migration; and minority language rights, particularly regarding language policy in Sri Lanka. Her book titled “Negotiating Linguistic and Religious Diversity : A Tamil Hindu Temple in Australia” features her main methodologies of discourse analysis and linguistic ethnography. She is a research fellow at Curtin University.
