Çise Çavuşoğlu is a professor of English Language Teaching. She completed her BA in English Language Teaching and MEd in Educational Sciences at Eastern Mediterranean University. She worked at Binghamton University, SUNY as a Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) for Turkish language in 2006-2007 academic year. Her ESRC Quota Award funded PhD work at King’s College London focused on ethnicities and language learning among young people from Turkish Cypriot backgrounds in London. She served as the Head of the Department of ELT and also the Director of the Education Unit at Near East University for several years. She has supervised numerous theses and research projects related to methodologies of foreign language learning and teaching, sociological aspects that influence language learning and linguistic identities, teacher identities and multilingualism. Her research interests include the relationship between ethnicity, culture, everyday language use and attitudes of participants towards learning and teaching of English in multicultural settings.
