Sachiyo Fujita-Round is a specially appointed associate professor at Daito Bunka University. She studied sociolinguistics in Lancaster and Hitotsubashi and achieved her Ph.D. from the International Christian University. Her research dealt with bilingualism and ethnography. Since 2012, she has been engaged in fieldwork on Ryukyuan endangered languages. ‘Bilingualism and bilingual education in Japan’ in the Routledge Handbook of Japanese Sociolinguistics (2019).
