Alamelu is a final-year undergraduate student at the National University of Singapore, double majoring in English Language & Linguistics and Economics. Deeply fascinated with how language both reflects and influences the society it's used by and within, she embarked on her honours thesis to investigate the increasing acceptability of the singular 'they' in the Singaporean context.
