Kathleen Heugh, Professor of Language Education and Multilingualism, in the Education Futures Unit, University of South Australia, specialises in multilingual education policy and practice in Africa and the Asia Pacific. She works with policy intervention; remote, rural, and urban field research; system-wide assessment, evaluation; sociolinguistic surveys; teacher education; and longitudinal research in multilingual pedagogy in higher education. She advises governments and transnational bodies on multilingual education with displaced, Indigenous, and migrant peoples. She leads a research programme on Southern multilingualisms, knowledges and decolonising education, and her current fieldwork supports bilingual education with remote communities in central Australia.
