Anshikha Adhikari obtained her PhD in Linguistics from IIT Kanpur. Her PhD dissertation investigated compound word formation in Kumaoni, a Central Pahari language spoken in Uttarakhand. Her research interests include the word formation processes, language contact and variation, language policy, and minority language rights. She currently teaches as a temporary faculty at NIT Uttarakhand.
