Thabo Ditsele is an Associate Professor of Sociolinguistics and Linguistic Anthropology at Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria, South Africa. His research work is mainly on: language contact (specifically Sepitori and tsotsitaal); language attitudes; language and identity; and multilingualism. He has published a good number of peer-reviewed articles and a book chapter locally and abroad mainly on Sepitori, tsotsitaal and language attitudes. He has also published fiction in a form of a Setswana novel (2008) and two Setswana short stories in an anthology (2008), and non-fiction in a form of a memoir written in South African English (2020). Since 2009, he has given more than 100 radio and television interviews in South Africa on Sociolinguistics and Linguistic Anthropology topics. He also writes opinion pieces which are published in major newspapers in South Africa.
