André Bernard is a third year PhD student at Hong Kong Baptist University. His research investigates the connections between language and masculine identity in Jamaica, specifically from the perspective of queer male theatre performers (dancers, singers, and actors). His project is a linguistic ethnography which focuses on two major Jamaican performing arts companies.
